Design

At BlackBox, the design process is quite a bit more than creating fantastic forms and compelling spaces. Design is a process of discovery that only comes from listening to our client's needs, studying their competitive environment and crafting a strategy based on our findings.

Only once the brief is set, is it time to package these findings in a functional, beautiful wrapper that effectively communicates the client's brand to the consumer.

Engineer

The engineers at BlackBox have the distinct challenge of bringing even the loftiest design intent in line with the most stringent budgets. Whether the project is 10,000 simple metal shelves slated for a domestic DC, or a major global shop-in-shop rollout entering 500 doors, design for manufacturability is the mantra and durability is king.

Build

There are two places we build – in the shop and in the field, each distinct in both its managerial requirements and category skillsets.

In the field are the journeyman carpenters versed in all levels of commercial construction and installation, led by project managers who truly understand the often times complex needs of our client’s client – The Retailer.

In our shops are the production line crews, precise in their complex jigs and “operations per minute” mindset as well as our custom fabricators – superb craftsmen, experienced in the unique construction methods required for seamless field installations.
